Nut-free Hummus

Hummus is a tasty snack, and a healthy one too. It has been one of my favourites for years now and I love trying all the different flavours you find in the shops. However, all shop-bought Hummus contains tahini which means they are not nut-free.

This Nut-free Hummus recipe doesn’t have tahini in and still tastes great! It is fresh, with a hint of spice and the quantities of these ingredients can be changed to give a different taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 400g can Chickpeas
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Ground Coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and Pepper

Method

Drain the Chickpeas, saving the water in the tin for making this Vegan Meringue.

Put all of the ingredients into a blender, and blend until smooth, adding more olive oil if needed.

Spoon into a bowl and serve. Serve with chopped carrots and cucumber and toasted pitta bread!

Keep in the fridge for 4-5 days and suitable for freezing.
