Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork

Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork

Who wants Slow Cooker BBQ Pulled Pork? Yes please! One of my favourite recipes to date.

This Pulled Pork recipe may take all day, but requires little effort, so pop on the slow cooker before work and come back to a house that smells divine, and no cooking to do when you return or treat yourself to a lovely Saturday night dinner with this Slow Cooker BBQ Puller Pork.

You will need a slow cooker or a casserole dish that can be used in the oven.

Ingredients

  • Pork Shoulder
  • 4 tbsp Tomato Ketchup
  • 1 tbsp White Wine Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tbsp Brown Sugar
  • 2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1 tsp Chilli Powder
  • Sprig of fresh thyme
  • Clove of garlic
  • Salt and Pepper
  • A few hours to make these Steamed Buns to go with the pork!

Method

Take your pork shoulder and cut off most of the fat. These pieces of fat can be used to make pork scratchings later on!

Mix together the BBQ sauce ingredients, adding more or less brown sugar or ketchup depending on how sweet you like it.

Rub this onto the pork and place into the slow cooker. Add the remainder of the sauce into the slow cooker. Place on a low heat and cook for around 8 hours.

Halfway through the time, turn the pork joint over so the other side is well covered in sauce. Although not compulsary!

When you are nearly ready to serve dinner, take the pork out of the slow cooker and start to pull apart the meat with a fork. It will be fairly easy as it will be very tender from cooking all day!

Put the shredded meat back into the slow cooker and mix to coat the meat into the sauce.

Keep warm until ready to serve.
